Title: Some OS3.1 SCSI questions
Post by: marcfrick2112 on July 17, 2008, 12:55:54 PM
Hello all,
Have a few general SCSI questions... Can Zip/Jaz drives be stacked on top of each other, or is there a certain distance that they should be separated by? Second, what is the max. HDD size for a SCSI drive under 3.1 (using the CyberStorm mk. III SCSI, and/or the A4000T's built-in SCSI..)
 Thanks, Marc

I think we had ours stacked. AFAIR the shape of the earlier models means you need some bluetack or something to stack them, but they would go side by side when on their sides.

Technically it will be 2^32 sectors or 2TB but the underlying file system will ultimately dictate what the maximum size partitions you can use.

What file system are you going to use? An un-modified OS3.1 FFS? SFS? PFS?

Hi alexh,
Doh! For now, I will just be using an un-modified OS3.1 FFS.

In that case, you're limited to 4GB.
