Title: Installing an IDE Multi DVD as CD0 on stock A4000 & OS3.1
Post by: Rabbi on July 15, 2008, 04:00:13 AM
I was wondering about why I'm having trouble installing a multi-DVD as CD0: under 3.1 on an A4000. It doesn't seem to find it.   I've upgraded the Kickstart chips from 3.0 to 3.1 and installed 3.1 on the HD.  I was hoping to install a multi-DVD as CD0: on the A4k so that my next step would be to install the OS 3.9 CD & BB1 & BB2.

Can an IDE multi-DVD be used as CD0:?

If this has been asked before, could someone point me to the thread, please.

Someone mentioned that I might need IDEFix97.  What's that for?

Yes, you need idefix97 for recognise the unit as a CD reader (no DVD support without other "drivers").

The CD.device on ROM 3.1 is buggy (it don't work!).
