Wanted. Cash waiting!
EDIT: date 23-10-08 now willing to pay 200 USD for DMAC-04 chip.
-
We would like one of those, but alas I dont think it's going to happen. You would also need a Ramsey 07.
Good luck with finding those two anywhere no matter how much money you have!
-
Ramsey 07 already got that, so I needed the DMAC, but it seems it is as rare as hens teeth.

Where did you find the Ramsey?
-
Then what would you consider each item is worth in USD $$, as compared to hen's teeth.
-
I guess I would be willing to pay $70 USD for one chip DMAC-04.
-
You're all mad. PC users showing signs of upgrade fever!
I bet you cannot tell me WHY you want these chips (other than they are the latest).
You've just read that they are the latest and want them!

pfft, I'd pay double that in a heartbeat!

Check with Datakompaniet in Norway.
You can find them at amigashop.com (http://www.amigashop.com/shop.php?s_2=&grp=2)
I believe they still have both Ramsey-7 and Super DMAC-4 in stock. The link will take you directly to their spare chips page.
-
Any chance they have an email address? Pretty hard to read this page in it's native language!
-
you can reach them at "post - at - datakompaniet - dot - no"
Let us hear if there is still life in them :) They have quite a lot of choice items in their list. But at quite a premium too.
Cheers
-
Emailed them, see what happens!
-
The DMAC 04 sold for $70 years ago when Software Hut still had them. They have been out of them for a very long time.

Does anyone know what the price is that is being asked in Norway for the DMAC 04 and Ramsey 07 in US Dollars? Thanks!
-
Ramsey rev 7 A3000/4000 - $88.75US
WD SCSI rev 8 chip for A3000/A2091 - $81.46US
Super Buster rev 11, A3000/4000 - $118.34US
Super DMAC rev 4 - $120.92US
Your complete A3000 upgrade!
I assume this is with taxes etc as there are two amounts, this is the greater amount.
1 USD = 5.06923 NOK

It doesnt look good that their shop has a last updated tag of 2006 and in the PC section there are no core2duo chips after E6850 which corresponds to the second half of 2007.

And the dollar was worth something!

DMAC = Kr613 ~ $121
Edit: D'oh beaten to it.

I'm afraid there is virtually no chance this is still in stock.

To date no reply.
Software Hut did reply and as expected, NO STOCK!
-
I think they no-longer know how to update websites :)

I will pay 200 USD if someone has a DMAC-04 chip.
-
WOW :-P
I have one of this chip but... I think my A3000 doesn't agree to sell it ;-)

Nope, no DMAC-04 :boohoo:

Have these things really become that hard to find? I have a Ramsey 07 and DMAC 04 combination that was supposed to go into an A3000 desktop. The problem is the A3000 hasn't been powered on in 5+ years and I don't have a 3640 so there really isn't a need other than it would be cool to have it with the latest/greatest chips.
Pros:
1 - $200 is an awful lot for a single chip.
2 - I don't even know WHY I need the chip.
3 - It may be another 5 years before I install the chip and power the A3000 on.
4 - Someone else has a real need. -- I think.
5 - I'll probably only regret the sale for the 10 minutes it takes to wrap and ship the item.
Cons:
1 - I'll never find one again if I end up needing one.
The cons are pretty weak. Send me a PM.

And yet some folk still would be willing hack a bollock off for one!?

If you're trying to upgrade from 68030 to 68040, then you may also want newer scsi chip. You need it regardless.
i just offered it here, its expensive and little room for making $, hence i don't want to order too many.
http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=38747
To do 040, as almost all A3000 were delivered with the revision combination of DMAC-02 and RAMSEY-04. The problem with this combination is, the DMAC-02 does not like 68040 boards like the A3640 due to heat and timing problems. Though, I have heard of DMAC-02 being ok with some 68040 boards.
Keep in mind even after you get newer Ramsey 07, Super Buster 11, Super DMAC 04, WD-SCSI 08 , there's no guarantee your miggy will like 68040. However, the SCSI 8 chip is a must fix for any amiga 3000 regardless of cpu.
If someone here has the chips, than I recommend you buy their Amiga 3000 motherboard also.

Ker Ching!! - That's both bollocks! :-o

And a leg too ...

@kin-hell
trolling? how's what I stated nonsense? do you own an amiga 3000?
Not forcing anyone to upgrade, simply will order fewer chips if no or little interest is shown. No problem. I doubt you'll find this chip easily (need to upgrade my A3000 also).
Took me 3 hours to locate them. :-D

phewww... sorry did not catch it :-P

Did you try with this?
DMAC_04 (http://www.softhut.com/cgi-bin/test/Web_store/web_store.cgi?page=catalog/hardware/custom_chips/chip_dmac.html&cart_id=3835411_59126)
I don't know if that can help.. But why not to give it a try?!? :-)
-
That's not gonna work. They've been out of them for years. As you can see they sold for a pretty good price back then. :-o

It's good to see some of us actually read the whole thread! ;-)
-
This took some finding again. Have you gotten one of these DMAC 04's yet?
-
I found one, PM me if you still want it.
