I think your first video was much better.  Please accept this as constructive criticism.

You needed to move back a bit from your webcam/video camera as it was in my opinion too close to your work.  Also, for some reason the movement caused an extreme amount of blurring, so it should have been kept to a minimum.  I think you could have just used a few static close ups to show certain areas of the install that needed close shots.

Now for the good points.  The addition of music and transitions was interesting and added a bit of flair to the video.  I have to give you props for putting yourself in a video on the net, that takes a bit of courage, unless you are a celebrity with all your clothes off and are just looking for some free notoriety!

I look forward to your next installment.

Dave

I concur..while the premise of the video is good the video itself was a struggle for me to watch..mostly because of the blurring, perhaps a PFS issue/cheap webcam..

Camera farther back..move items or anything else across the camera
very, very slowing.  This will minimize the blurring.  The audio was mixed for me...music, voice, assembly noise..morse code all at once..mmm..Keep the ambient noise to a minimum.

But all in all makes me want to hunt for an A1200

:-)

Interesting video - it made me a little nostalgic for my old A1200 days.  However I too would suggest you consider upgrading your webcam, or simply purchase a cheap second-hand DV cam to improve the smoothness of your videos.

On a side note, it's nice to hear the Norfolk/Suffolk accent on YouTube.  I am unable to watch 'Look East' or 'Anglia News' online, unfortunately, so I seldom here this endearing way dialect any more.

Cheers,
James

You probably had a low light setting on which causes that motion blur. Add a few lights to make it as bright as possible even though you'll be sweating.

To amigadave and all.

I am grateful for your comments, I will see if I can get a better cam, its just a Logitech STX webcam. I have just spent almost 1500 pounds this month on Ham Radio equipment but might be able to improve the audio by using an external mic.

Thanks for all who endured the amateurish video the subject is interesting but unfortunately I don't yet have a studio to shoot this stuff properly. Stay tuned with hopefully some improvements ;)

Very nice idea.
If you want more materials for footage, hop over the canal, bring a webcam and patience and I'll provide a sh*tload of hardware you can record.

Maybe even a beer or two and a place to sleep :)
