Google has unveiled a free online service called "Lively (http://www.lively.com/html/landing.html)" that allows people to embody a 3D avatar and have text-based conversations with other Internet users in a virtual chat room.

I still laugh every time I get on a server and see someone running around with that character pic. I'll start running after them going "Hey, Matt. Matt!". Usually, that sends them into a fright and they take off, so I'll just chase them.
