Does Aros run under UAE :-? Is that a 68k compile of the whole OS?

Is there even a 68k version of Aros? I have never heard of Aros running under UAE. It is usually run as a standalone OS or hosted ontop of linux or similar.

He's talking about AFA... I wish I could help, but I've not used it for a while...
-
Yeah im talking about afa (aros for amiga)
-
i got that error on a 3.1 install, tho it needed v37. But afa seems to need 3.9 basically.

It is possible to use AfA on 3.1 but you need some files from 3.9:
1. Rename C:SetPatch to SetPatch.old
2. Copy AmigaOS3.9:OS-Version3.9/Workbench3.5/Libs/icon.library to Libs:
3. Copy AmigaOS3.9:OS-Version3.9/Workbench3.9/Libs/workbench.library to Libs:
4. Copy AmigaOS3.9:OS-Version3.9/Workbench3.9/C/SetPatch to C:
If it's complaining about datatypes.library not being a high enough version, then copy that from 3.9 as well over the top of the 3.1 version.

i have already installed 3.9?

Ok, open a shell and type "version datatypes.library" (without the quotes) and let us know what version it reports.

it says datatypes.library 44.47?
is this what i need? http://aminet.net/search?query=WBStartEmu.lha

That's odd. Since you do actually have a supported version of datatypes.library, I think the next step is to run SnoopDOS (http://aminet.net/package/util/moni/SnoopDos) to see what it is actually causing it to fail. It may be that you have some other file missing which is preventing datatypes.library from working which is why it reports a failure to load datatypes.library.
You would need to put SnoopDOS in your startup-sequence, somewhere before AfA_OS_Loader. The line you would need to add would be something like:
Run >NIL: Path:To/SnoopDOS/SnoopDOS
(obviously correcting the path to point to wherever you put SnoopDOS)
That will cause a SnoopDOS window to open before AfA_OS_Loader tries to launch, and you can then check the SnoopDOS log window for errors related to AfA_OS_Loader or datatypes.library.
Edit - WBStart won't help you here.

tryed to open the startup sequence and this error came up
Cannot Open "gadget/layout.gadget", version 44
Unable to run "Sys:Tools/EditPad"?

Sounds to me like something is very b0rked in your 3.9 installation. I would suggest reinstalling TBH as there are clearly a lot of files missing, corrupt, or missing supporting files which are required for correct operation.

TBH?

Sorry, I'm being lazy :-) And have therefore ended up typing many more characters than just typing "to be honest" in the first place. Ah well, +1 for the post count ;-)

By the way, when you installed OS3.9 did you use an Emergency Disk? Just because you're using WinUAE and can access the CD-ROM directly (like a hard drive) doesn't mean you don't have to use an Emergency Disk to install the OS. If you didn't do it, that may well be the cause of your problems.
