hi!i have a problem with my csppc !when i call warp3d apps then shows a message :
powerpc data access exception
task name 'ramlib_ppc'
task address:087ed3b0
task id:105
that message shows!i have install fresh setup about 3-4 times!
my software is:
os3.9
bb1
bb2
libs latest
powerpc support from cd
warpup5.1update
warp3d4.2a
cgx4.2r6
thats all!
someone to knows why shows this message??
my hardware is working fine with os4!
and before my hard diskgoing to dead the mashine works the warp3d apps very fine!demos3d and games 3d!after the next day when my hard disk crash i istall new hard drive and i put all this common software to say in upper lines!help me please!!!!thanks!

Hi!
there's a warpOS library for OS4... and MorphOS also runs Warp3D apps :-)
Anyway, if you insist on using OS3+WarpOS check out in WarpOS preferences that the gfx card base memory is correctly set up. There are also some flags that may affect 3D apps like "terminator" and othes but it's been a long time since I used WarpOS... I advice you installing both MorphOS and OS4 to be able to run everything :-D

Thank You for that! I think with that bit of info I'm going to wipe the 3.9 partition from my 1200 and stick with just 4.0 and MOS. I have enough other machines that I can run 3.9 on that don't have a PPC in them.

It's some age old bug in Warp3D libraries someone never bothered to fix. Basically the library initialization overflows the stack.

a bug? and what triggers it, is it known? Never had this on my 2 csppc A4000's...

when i buy the csppc card the germany seller mail me the libs and driver for installation csppc.after installation the csppc works great!!both demos 3d and games like wipeout quake heretic and others.the same problem i have also and my amiga 1200ppc.in last week when i install some libs ppc and 3d works!but i dont change the setting in prefs/workbench graphics memory or other memory option.default option is graphics memory and when i try to change it to other memory show a message env/sys cannot be delete !!(a1200ppc message).
help me to correct this problem with exceptions!!if i correct
this in my a4000 then i try to correct also and my a1200!!

It's a bug. The Warp3D library init overflows the limited ramlib stack (just 2KB). It depends on the order of the library opening: If you manually open one of the sublibraries first it will hide the bug. Basically if the library init calls OpenLibrary any other diskbased libraries it will cause ramlib to recurse, eating away some of the stack area. If some of the the sublibraries are preloaded to memory the OpenLibrary will return immediately (rather than invoking ramlib again) and not cause further ramlib recursion.
Also, the crash might not happen unpatched system, or if you're just lucky and there's no critial data before the ramlib stack.
The same bug plagued multiple libraries from the same authors. The probram and the solution were brought to their attention years ago, nothing happened.

Hi! I wouldn't delete your OS3.9 partition! There's software that won't run on OS4/MOS like Demos or old apps. But I keep it with low priority and always boot from OS4 or MOS.
You won't save much space deleting your OS3.9 partition and if your PPC chip dies you will suffer even more because you'll have to reinstall everything again.

Try also Blitzkick with excellent modules and params, it saved from a similar situation.

this exceptions shows when the ppc cpu is ded??
if is ded why the warpos demos working fine?
and why the os4 working on ppc correctly?ideas???

goto the CSPPC boot menu (push on ESC during the boot) and set the waitstates for PPC (in the RAM section) to "Nowaitstates"
and if this doesn't helps, download and install this (http://devnull.owl.de/~frank/powerpc_V16_1beta.lha) powerpc.library

i hope to fix this library!
the waitstates is disable from menu!i have select the 60ns setting.i try and the 70ns.but the same.before this message my a4000 works fine.i am stupid because my amiga works great to all progs.and then i install some other libs ppc and then...
the end.my hard disk broken and i put another one hard disk.install os3.9 bb1..bla bla and after all ward3d refuse to play!!thats all!i hope to play!!thanks!in few houres i tell you if play my amigi!! :getmad: :getmad:

perhaps you should try the games on MorphOS... some of them will run better than under OS3.9 :-)

*HOW TO INSTALL MORPHOS IN YOUR PPC CLASSIC MIGGY*

points to keep in mind:
-create the partition in the first 4GB of the HD
-it's better to format the partition with FFS from AmigaOS3.1 or even
better,use Aminet's SFS. Don't use Jörg Strohmayer's SFS. It could
work with OS3.5/OS3.9 FFS but it could cause problems.
-Unpack the ISO in that partition. If you burn the CD using peecee
software be careful with filename length and executable attributes.
-Check out that all monitors located in devs/monitors have set the
"executable" flag. You can set it using icon information.
-Download the kickstart modules for paula sound and floppy disk from
the following address:
http://skolman-mws.w.interia.pl/mos/extmodules.lha
if you can't access those modules you can extract the modules by
yourself from your ROM3.1 (not an A500/A2000 one!) using the programs
Luciferin or REMUS.
-Copy the modules to boot/extmodules
-NEVER user ED nor MEmacs nor Notepad to edit MorphOS PowerUp
startup-sequence. Use CygnusED, GoldED or any editor that doesn't
trunk line length to 255 characters
-Modify your Startup-sequence and be careful with the following lines:
*Don't use real kickstart as it's useless because you only would like
to use disk drive and paula audio modules (and these modules are
already located at your extmodules directory). You must have this line
active:
set kickstart "nokickstart"
*The booting device should include the text
"bootdevice=yourpartition". I can't remember if it's mandatory to
include the two points at the end of the device name. E.g.:
set bootdevice "bootdevice=MorphOS-HD"
*You must set the resetlevel of your machine correctly. If it doesn't
boot with default resetlevel try values 3 for BlizzardPPC or 5 if you
own a CyberstormPPC. If it doesn't work try with higher ones.
*You will have to change last line so it references
"module1.rom.idehack" instead of "module1.rom". Of course, you could
also rename the files inside the boot directory so you don't have to
change the startup-sequence line.
-If you have some MAPROM options enabled MorphOS may not boot. If you
have problems you can try to disable MAPROM and special options.

i do seem to have a similar problem, if i start any of warp3d demos except warptest i receive something like that:

regular warpup apps work actually with no probs. i tried the above patches but with no succes. anyone knows what to do?

CVPPC works out of the box :-) You don't need to install any lib because PowerUp/WarpOS compatibility is built in. If you had a Voodoo3 you would even have Rave/Warpd3d support built in but Permedia2 3D part is not supported so you need to download Warp3D from here:http://aminet.net/package/driver/video/Warp3D-4.2a (http://aminet.net/package/driver/video/Warp3D-4.2a)
MorphOS includes native PPC drivers for the CSPPC UWSCSI controller, motherboard IDE controller, and A4000T scsi controller.
You can use your AmigaOS3.x drivers for example network drivers directly (well, xsurf works better if you use a patched AriadneII device, just like on OS4).
If you use a sound card you would only have to install the m68k driver, the rest of the AHI system is PPC native.

ive tried that already. ramlibpatch answers with "patch done!" but has no effect on the demos, they crash either way. anyway i have usually stackattack activated in my s-s with following options:
c:stackattack minstack40000 addstack=8192
but have commented it out for now since it was mostly needed for afaos, i recall and do not enabled it for a while.
the system is massively patched, with a custom kickstart in the deneb-flashrom, all latest updates inclusive. but it is comletely stable apart of the issue. maybe that is causing the problem anyway but i dont think so. i will check it through.

Will make-cd burn the morphos iso with the correct filenames and attributes?
OR what burning software on the pc would you recomend ?
Alchol 120% ? any partiuclar settings ?

Try reseating your cpu cards, something strange seems to happen whey theire stessed

c'mon, you would have random crashes if this was some hardware contact issue. our prob is positively due to sw failure/sys setup.

well im having some of the same issues, and i have no clue why , tho it seems to change if i reseat the card, now i've pretty much bolted it in there however

reseating the ppc card?why?i dont have any of this problems!anyway the os4 working fine!if the csppc card exist this problem the os4 cannot run!i hope to be the libs problem!not hardware!the other solution is to install morphos os! :-?

MakeCD should toast it correctly :-)
If you use a PC I think WinRAR will unpack the files correctly but I'm not sure about the burning options. Use a CDRW so you can toast it again if you find out file attributes are not OK.

i made morphos-cd and am buying os4 but im not so sure if the systems will offer functionality i need, morphos most possibly not. i would prefer to stick to 3.9 for now especially as it is nearly perfectly configured.
by the way, i would not fiddle too much with an csppc since they get easily broken, ive heard

you have broken your csppc?in my condition the problem shows after crash my hard disk!after that i dont know what happens the software never works like the last installation on the broken hard disk!!i try today to fix the broken disk and if the works after i will copy this disk in another new.then i hope to see what libs i put it there and the differense on the new installation.the new installation shows the exception error!in the broken disk never shows that!!i am confused about that!i must to find the mistake!and then i post with big letters I FOUNDED!!!!! :-D

you have broken your csppc?
no, i havnt. i have only got one, and installed it for the first time some weeks ago. but this in a known issue.
so u had a working configuration and the problem occurs after you lost some files or reinstalled the system i understand. i would be really eager to know what makes the difference. my custom kickstart seems not to be the reason since the problem exists with romoff jumper set on my deneb too.

take care for the csppc!!it is very sensitive device!in my case i will put out the 68060/50 and put another one 68060/66.
crystal and other working fine.in cvppc i put in all chips metall cooling from zalman or other..!

im not sure if im going to overclock it at the moment. maybe the ppc part as its only 150mhz but i will look to that separatly

ok!better solution is cooling!the differense about the overclock is to small!from 200 to 233 on the ppc cpu is stable but to hot from beggining!i will put out the original cooler and construct other from asus mainboard chipset.is to tall from old and too cold!with chipset fan is best.my two cards is cold from start and after playning 10 3d demos following its other!for best solution put a 8cm or 12cm fan 12v from the side of ram!maybe some message appears from hot environment!
after 3 hours i send you some fotos to see ok?cu later!

ok!i have fix the problem of the csppc.works fine to all 3d apps!the problem is the cgx driver!i install the ver 42.0 of cgx!after that run it the planet potion demo!cool to all!after that the potion option!the same !!runs fine!all the 3d demos heretic game works!i hope to help for this!! :rtfm:

I have been trying to sort this problem out for about a year and i gave up as it was really starting to bug me..So my amiga has sat there collecting dust while i used windows and now Linux...
I would use it in an instant if i knew how to fix it but i dont,so for now its a model in my room haha..

basicaly the problem is the prcedure instalation of warp3d warpos and cgx system!!if you install first cgx and the other next then be crash the os when you run 3d apps!so i install first warpos5.1update after the powerpc support from os3.9 and after the 2 updates bb1 and bb2.next the warp3d4.2a and last the cgx drivers ver42.0 from cgx cd instalation.after all the warp3d apps and demos with games works fine!some times after playning ppc demos show a message not memory for zbuffer!this message appears when you let the setting as graphics memory from sys/prefs/workbench!you must change it from graphic memory to other memory!
and some other problem !when i finish all installation before find the correct procedure setup the settings of cvppc on the monitors.38khz default screen and after select the correct resolution for my monitor.restart and after that i lost from screenmode the cvppc!????demos ppc canot find the resolutions.if you not shows the cvppc in the screen modes you must install again the cgx driver from cd!restart and then shows again the all screen resolution of cvppc!!thats all my friends!! :-D :-D :-D :rtfm:
