Hi people,
Just wondered if anyone knows if I can use a standard MIDI Merger such as this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Yamaha-YMM2-Midi-Merge-unit_W0QQitemZ330244609250QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330244609250&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
with OctaMED SSv1 ??
I want to connect two MIDI keyboards to the Amiga so my MIDI Input setup will look like this:
MIDI Keyboard x2 >> MIDI Merge interface >> ProMIDI interface >> Amiga
Sounds simple enough, but cant find any info on the web about using a MIDI Merger with Octamed.
Thanks so much for any help.
More info here: http://www.tweakheadz.com/midi_interfaces.htm

MIDI is a standard protocol that is intended to make all kinds of devices from different manufacturers interoperable. So I don't see why this one shouldn't work with Octamed.

In an ideal world, yes that`s true.
But alas, it is not always as simple as that, as every Amiga user will undoubtedly be aware.
Don`t want to spend £75 on something that will not work as it should...

No MIDI Through in your devices?

MIDI Thru is only good if you don`t have enough outputs. That way you could daisychain the Keyboards. (ie it sends THRU what it recieves IN. The OUT signal is not included in THRU)
I need more inputs.
