I have just acquired a Blizzard 1230-IV accelerator for my desktop A1200, but it came without RAM. Are there any specifications the RAM must obey to?
I know it must be PS/2 72-pins, and preferably EDO, although thats not required. But I'm not sure if it can be both single and double sided RAM... :-?
Also, about setting that jumper, is all EDO ram 60ns?

I think nearly anything goes, as long as it fits the socket. Thus double sided needs to be slim (the chips can't be very thick or it won't fit).
All EDO _should_ be 60ns, look for a -6 on the chips to be certain. But really, EDO is 60ns ;-)

You can use double-sided SIMMs in your Blizzard 1230 IV.
In a Blizzard 1230 IV SCSI-kit you can put slim double-sided or single-sided SiMMs
You can read my review on:

EDO, PAGEMODE, FASTPAGEMODE... all goes, single or doublesided doesn't matter. You earn something like 0.1-0.2 mips between 70 and 60ns simms so don't worry too much about that either, just try on the fastest and if it doesn't work then jumper it down. :-)

I think there may be trouble with the denser SIMMs...
I've got 4 64MB SIMMs that steadfastly refuse to work in my CS-PPC A4000 - the machine goes unstable and it thinks they're only 16MB each. Of course that doesn`t mean they won`t work in a Blizzard 1230-IV, but be warned, it might be worth checking first. 32MB SIMMs should be fine though.
Good job RAM is cheap these days!

4 64MB SIMMs for a CSPPC?!?!?!
CSPPC, requires MAX 4 32MB of SIMMs for a total size of 128 MB.
Ciao

Exactly. That's why they refuse to work. :-)
What puzzles me though is why I've heard of Blizzard PPCs with more than 128MB...
-
BlizzardPPC takes 2 simms of max 128MB each for a total of max 256MB, nothing puzzling there. :-D
Blizzard1230IV takes 1 simm of max 128MB so no problem with "dence simms".

Ok thanks for the info! :-) Now I only need to know how much RAM is enough... I only use the Amiga for games and demos. Should 32MB be enough for everything (tm)?
I can't find any 128MB modules, and 64MB is 50 euro while 32MB is only 19. I could search for second hand stuff, but they usually offer smaller simms in pairs (since Pentiums needs 2 simms).
