Just purchased a little go faster card for the A1200. ITs by GVP and is fitted with only 4mb ram. I'm only using the rig for games so an extra 4mb is likely to be enough for now but been digging around and it seems the 64pin memory it takes is hard to come by. Anyone know of were to get some cheaply??

Your card should be a GVP JAWS I or II.
The max ram supported is 32MB.
I have some 16 MB to sell if u want, just PM.

Software Hut had a new batch of GVP SIMMs manufactured for them a couple of months ago. Look here (http://www.softhut.com/cgi-bin/test/Web_store/web_store.cgi?page=catalog/hardware/memory/gvp_4MBand16MB.html) for more information.

True, limited quantities at $34.95 per 4 Mb module. Thanks Mark :-D

Dear friends,
Sorry I need to make one question:
I have a Combo GVP 030 @25 Mhz since I read on the big book of Amiga Hardware that it support Ram Type: 3 x GVP 64pin SIMM Slots plus 1MB surface mounted (for 25Mhz version) or 4MB surface mounted for other versions what I wonder is:
Would is good for my turbo board the GVP 4MB SIMM 32 RAM 60NS that sells SoftHut (http://www.softhut.com/cgi-bin/test/Web_store/web_store.cgi?page=catalog/hardware/memory/gvp_4MBand16MB.html) or I need memory of only 1 MB?
Please let me know,
Kind Regards

Ehm, even 4 Mb of memory seems to be to me the absolute minimum ...

There's a hack (http://aminet.net/search?query=GVPsim64) on Aminet which allows 72-pin simms to be used on GVP boards, but I've never owned a GVP board so can't say whether it is easy/practical to implement or not.
Anyone tried it?

I can say it works OK if you have a 60ns SIMM. Remember GVP have 3 SIMM options: 1, 4 and 16Mb.
Regular 16Mb SIMM are hard to find, but worth the pain, if used with the GVP1260. Those GVP 16Mb SIMM are rare than hen's teeth! And with exorbitant prices!!!

It works, IF you have the right speed SIMM, and if you have room. This hack looks like it is right out of a Frankenstein movie!
I just bought a few GVP SIMMs from Software Hut to avoid that mess. At least I can use my "new" G-Force 040 now. I really appreciate Software Hut's efforts on this issue.
