Title: X-Surf on Classic OS4 blues
Post by: countzero on June 12, 2008, 12:21:15 PM
I got my OS4 a few weeks ago and finally I got around to installing a cd drive at my cybppc and set it up.
Installation went nicely, but after that I can't get my X-Surf working. I read that one needs to either use the 68k drivers or a ariadne patched driver. If someone could provide instructions to how to do either, I would be grateful.

Also if you have any experience in using deneb under os4, please share. Does the latest poseidon work out of the box with os4 ?

my system :
csppc + cvision
hd and cd rom on cybppc.device
x*surf (3 ? one with the ide and clock ports)
delifina lite
deneb

No problem: Just copy your original 3.x x-surf.device to the Devs:Networks/ path and you`re ready to surf the Net ;-) I hope you`ll enjoy the OS4 , and give us feedback from your experience :-)

P.S. My experience from the OS4 ETH use is an ultra-fast data transfer (compared to the 3.x one), but I`ve noticed strange and unpredictable lockups during the SMB-volumes mounting or file copy from and to these volumes... (might be the WinXP-side the culprit, but from the 3.x side I`ve never experienced such strange behaviour)
