not tried - but dont see why not.
I've run private/work wise many different OS's on VMWare 5.x on windows and Fusion on Mac.
VirtualBox from (lately) Sun is doing a brilliant (free) job on more or less any platform you like as well.

Why not simply use WinUAE?

Just checked it out, VirtualBox (Linux i386) can not boot amithlon. The boing-ball starts jumping - kernel is booting - but the Amiga never shows up.
Maybe to much hardware dependings for a virtual system. In this case an emulated emulation is not the best way to work in.
(Win)UAE should do this job a lot better. Its also possible to export the installed amithlon OS3.9 (hardfile) and let UAE access it.

VirtualPC2004, VMWare ... arent working.

My favorite version of Virtual PC on the PC--i've gotten amlmost any OS for the PC to work with it. For the Mac, Version 6.1 or 6.2 might work too. If I had Amithlon, I might try it on my Mac running Virtual PC 6.2. Thanks for the screenshot Ratte.

Because that's too easy ;-)
One benefit (albeit, a rather convoluted one) is the ability for Amithlon to run native x86 code within the emulation.

well ive had no joy with vpc or fusion but that is with the shipped kernel. Need to build a fresh iso to try last kernel
-
also regarding winuae i dont like it. My main os now on the phenom 9850 is osx 10.5.2 which with fusion with unity enabled is a joy to use (pretty much using win software straight on mac desktop). So i would really like to use Amithlon in fusion

Amithlon can't use the Unity feature anyway, so really WinUAE is as good option.

i know the unity only works with xp and possibly vista. It was just the abilty to use amithlon on it and kick in spaces and ill have it on a seperate screen. Or maybe even hook up another monitor if i was being really greedy

...and you can do that with WinUAE just fine, too.
