#amiga68k
A1000-A4000 machines (non-PPC/OS4). Keeping it real as it were. Pure nostalgia.

@A1200
What's the score? Who's it for?
Well its for people like me really, who want to chat and ask questions about old Amiga. Being nostalgic about the Amiga means:
- No worries on the outcome of the lawsuit
- Who cares if no one continues with a new OS
- Hardware is only a problem if you don't have an eBay account :)
By all means have fun with new software and push your classics to the max, but don't try to make them replace a modern PC or Mac becuase that just spoils the fun of Amiga.
If you do come to the channel, VERSION me. I am running Grapevine IRC on my A600HD - Standard 68000/7MHz with 2MB RAM, running WiFi!

GRAPEVINE?! :-P mister retro

that's a pretty lame limitation.

Have to ask, whats the point of opening a new irc-channel? There are already numerous amiga-related irc-channels around where you can get plenty of information, #amiga.org being one. In fact, I bet there is a local Amigachannel for each country in the world where you can ask about Amiga in your native language, but hey, whatever rings your bells :)

What's the best Amiga IRC client to download from Aminet? Never done IRC before.
EDIT: Now downloading WookieChat...

There is about 10-11 people in there at peak times now so its going OK. You are all welcome, classic Amiga and retro computing is the basis of the channel but you can talk about anything really, its really nice.

irc.amigaworld.net isn't getting to the right place. To get to #amiga68k use server se.amigaworld.net .

If a PPC version of WHDLoad would be released tomorrow I bet classic PPC would be OK in the channel :-)

On English Amiga Board, I'd imagine so. On this one I'm not so sure.
