The internal floppy drive in my AT 1200 PPC/060 machine just died last night. I confirmed it by swapping in a drive from one of my 4000's.
Where is the best place to buy a replacement? I have an eject button on the old drive I can use if it's the same. The old drive is a Panasonic JU-257A516P. Amigakit lists A1200 drives but they are for a tower case and have a face plate. Perhaps I can put something else in there?
I have already tried the basics, checking the microswitches, cleaning ect.
Thanks,
-Jeff

We have drives without faceplate for a desktop A1200 as well:

Will it have the correct eject button for my AT 1200 case included? I'll be placing my order later on today if so. Thanks Again AmigaKit!

Yes it will be OK for an AT A1200 case. Thanks.

OK, I'll place my order today then. My last order from you (OS4) finally arrived in the US after many weeks in an envelope smashed completely FLAT. It ruined the OS4 box:-( Please pack my drive carefully and perhaps don't mail it by sea if possible.
Thanks Again,

Sorry to hear that, we carefully overpack parcels usually and *always* pay for airmail. Most parcels are delivered in the US within 7 working days.

Hi Jeff, if you have some original "dead" floppy drives, i can make them relive if you can send them.

Some of the Panasonic drives (JU-2* - I forget right now but can look it up) use SMD capacitors and they LEAK. I've had one FDD smoke+burn in front of my eyes due to the leaked SMD. Thus check for leaking SMDs!

I will check for bad SMD caps also. Is there a HD floppy that is a direct fit in the 1200 case? I am starting to get spoiled with my A4000's FZ-357A hooked up:-D
