Title: update on my neobitz
Post by: TheGoose on June 06, 2008, 02:29:08 AM
Well, I have it going on my a1000 and works sort of but very unusable for some reason(s)?

I have a shaky picture. And the colors are off. I double checked my RGB connection just like in the youtube video and they are just like his.

I have a s-video connector just like his, bought it from Mouser electronics (really good shop BTW) so those wire leads are connected to the out header wires from the kit. I grounded all the grounds to the MB.

What could be at fault here? My composite out on the machine still works fine too, hmmm.

Maybe I half blew up the neobitz board? Or my tv does not like it? It's a non-HDTV LCD by Sylvania.

Wild interference? The cover is still off.

Use shielded wires for the signals. Ground the braid of the cables just in one end to avoid more interferences.

And one more tip: some LCD TV/monitors (the vast majority, unfortunately) don't sync if the screen is lower than 56Hz (if you are using PAL resolutions).  :-(

Thanks rkauer, I'll look for something like that, or maybe try an rigged experiment with foil just to see.

I might look into a more quality & shielded s-video cable itself, this one is el cheapo.

I do think this is 'noise' issue - so close....
