Title: REBOL again...
Post by: Nightcrawler on August 16, 2003, 04:11:33 PM
Sorry if I'm being a pain...

I'd just like to express my happiness :-D

I've just written a customized ftp-program to make maintaining my website easier and quicker. It's currently at about 5Kb in size with gui, and there's a custom text-editor in there as well that lets me edit html and upload directly. It's not completely bug free yet, but it's getting there  :-)

I've never programmed anything except for the odd C64-basic program and html-page before. Not bad for a few days dabbling, eh?  :-D

Sorry...
Check out the REBOL (http://www.rebol.com) website.

It kinda reminds me of c64 basic in that it's easy to get into but has a lot of power to it as well. What I like the most, though, is how insanely small the scripts are. And rebol itself is about 500Kb. It feels very Amiga'ish too.

Rebol for Aros would be nice :)

Hey sounds pretty neat.  I think one of the moderators tried to make an ftp client once.  Oh well, I would like to see rebol for both aros and morphos :)

Can't comment for Aros.. but existing 68k-Amiga version seems to be ok on MorphOS .. With 1.3 it was kinda slow but it's ok on 1.4 with Trace-Jit. Of course native version would be optimal  but considering markets it's not likely to happen soon.
