Hi all,
To anyone who already owns a Minimig...please quote the specs of your PSU :rtfm:
PZ.
-
Hi,
Why?
-
Because I've been told a package has arrived at home & I'm sure it is the Minimig I ordered.
After work (in 20 minutes :-o ) I plan to buy a power supply on the way home so I can have fun with my new toy :-D
PZ.
-
Did you buy it without the PSU?
-
Yes, because I live in Australia & I'd rather use one designed for here than use an adaptor for a UK or European one.
Now, please tell me your specs before I leave work, please? :-)
-
5v 1A stolen from my voip adapter.

You do realize that we use the same power voltage and frequency as the UK ? 220v 60hz.
The only difference is the pins on the plug.

It's 50Hz, and if the plug is different then, well, he will need an adaptor, won't he? :)
-
Yeah 50hz, i always get them confused.
If he is unable to cut off the plug and wire up an Australian plug, then yes an Adapter will be needed.

Well, I found something suitable (5v 450mA), BUT...
The {bleep}ing Minimig won't work! :madashell:
My monitor is getting no signal & the "drive" LED keeps flashing six times, pauses, then flashes six times again & so on.
WTF?!?!
PZ.
-
From the error flash documentation:
"6: MMC or SD flash card not found/recognized"
Do I need to format the SD card a different way? :getmad:
-
Well, my PC just died too...FAR OUT!!!!
Any way to format FAT16 with my Mac?!?!
-
I use a NEXXTECH universal AC/DC adapter (set for 4.5v DC - it can output between 3v & 12v and allows the polarity of the pin to be changed). It's a 110v model only, but check locally as they make make a 220-240v version.
On the SD card, you must know someone with a PC - hopefully.
On the monitor, perhaps the monitor can't scan down low enough to deisplay the signal. I use an LCD monitor with this problem and I have to use THIS core instead:

Remember to check the jpeg with the docs to configure the jumpers on the Minimig.

Absolutely. 'diskutil' to the rescue.
See this page (http://www.liquidx.net/blog/2007/05/26/format-partition-as-fat16-on-mac-osx/), it gives a very good example on how.
-
It has to have a regulated PSU or risk killing your minimig
-
I already told on EAB you that isn't the problem Alex.
-
Cheers Darrin, but I wouldn't think that's the issue here, as the error code shows it can't see the SD card.
I can confirm that it and three other cards I've tried were most certainly FAT16, but it still doesn't recognise them.
Anyone have any more ideas on this?
-
Problem solved! :-D
Mac OSX didn't work, formatting as FAT16 with Gparted in Linux did.
