Any idea why the amiga screen is compressed into the upper half of the window?
Edit: ok, i fixed that problem somehow. Any idea why the bard's tale sometimes boots to a non-functional prompt instead of starting the game?

You have those A2000s now, why are you messing with WinUAE when you have the real thing now?
Sorry to hear you are struggling with WinUAE, but it is usually just a matter of getting it set up correctly.
I have not played the Bards Tale or too many other games on WinUAE. I have real Amigas for playing games on.
I hope someone else here can help you, but you must be specific with what settings you are using, and what problem you are seeing.

I'm in the process of moving so I don't have access to the 2000s at the moment. I'm just tinkering with WinUAE over here. In a few weeks I'll have everything in one place.
I was able to make bard's tale work, but it seems a bit unstable. I'm sure playing it right on the hardware would be a lot more reliable.
I'm now trying to get a harddrive going for winuae. I've created it but amigados in winuae doesn't believe it's there.

Which version of WinUAE are you using?
The latest version is very good http://www.winuae.net
Which configuration are you using? You should use a Quickstart setting and tweak it for your purposes slightly.
After adding a hard drive to WinUAE you must install AmigaOS. For that you'll need the installation disk (images).
Insert the install disk image, it will boot to workbench, open the disk with the GUI find the installation icon and follow what it says on the screen... swap disk images when prompted.
Couldnt be simpler or more user friendly.
