Title: Bad workbench disk or bad Amiga 500. Help. =)
Post by: Rowbeartoe on May 24, 2008, 11:44:22 PM
Hello everyone, I just purchased a used Amiga.  I think I either have a bad disk drive or the disk that has workbench 1.2 I have is bad.  I did get the thing to work a few times, jut hitting cancle, but then once I saved preferances (for betr mouse speed) the whole thing will not load- just constant bad read/write errors.

To test if it's a disk problem, I do have several of my Atari ST DS diskets that should work find should their be a program that can a) format a disk using my XP PC disk drive, and B) put a workbench program on it.

My alternative is to wait until Tuesday and drive for over an hour to get to the store that was selling these used products.

Thank you- any help would be appreciated.

I purchased an Amiga so I can enjoy it and compare it to my beloved Atari ST as well.  A while ago, I was asking if the Amiga 500 could do 60fps full screen page flipping, now if I can get my Amiga to work, then I can see it for myself.

Thanks again everyone.

Ok, it was a bad disk.  I just got my copy of some used software- and DP 2 included workbench.  And it works!  Soo, I'm happy.
