Title: Interest Check; BPPC 040/25 603e/240mhz.
Post by: cantido on May 21, 2008, 12:50:25 PM
I've recently found this in my long packed away boxes of goodies (aka crap). I can't see what I'll use it for, I don't have a working BVision and not enough interest in the Amiga stuff to bother buying one.

It's a Phase 5 board, one of the very first.. if I remember correctly a Rev0 one.
The board appears to be in working condition, I've plugged it into my retro gaming a1200 and the machine has booted up and shows the 040 and fastram correctly. I have no means of getting the PPC stuff onto the machine to test that. But I don't think they'll work at all if the ppc is dead? Dunno.
Early boot menu shows the board as "Working".

Anyhow... the board is in the uk, send me a pm if you're interested.

Cheers

To those that PM`d me;

I think what I'll do is confirm the PPC side of the board works, a confirmed working board is going to be a bit more valuable. The board was working last time it was used properly so I'm not really offering it as spares/repairs.
It's not really worth me letting it go for ~100.

You mightwant to examine EBAY. Check completed item listings. These go for outrageous amounts on ebay. I sold my A4000 version of this card for $850 or so two years ago.

The A1200 version has gone for over $500 if I remember correctly.

I could put it up on ebay. But I'd rather it went to someone who is going to put it use rather than hoard it... I'd also prefer to swap it for arcade hardware than money. :)

Arcade hardware? I have a big collection of arcade PCBs, both JAMMA and older.

Candito that's great. Glad you're giving back to the community in such a way. Hope your board contributes to some project that will allow us to run Amiga os on NEW reasonably priced  hardware.
