Title: Amikit on Linux
Post by: swift240 on May 14, 2008, 09:23:03 PM
Has any one out there got Amikit running on Linux?

Did you find it difficult?
And was it faster on Linux than XP?

Mike.

I am running the Linux version on my FreeBSD box. Install was a piece of cake.

Since WinUAE is more advanced (i.e. faster) than E-UAE, Amiga emulation in general is slower on Linux systems. Unfortunately .  :-(

Has anyone ever tried WinUAE through WINE?

It would probably be faster than E-UAE due to using JIT...

AmiKit linux wrapper script. The goal is to have an installer atleast as easy and straight forwards as the linux one. I havent worked anymore on this since 0.002 however, but it does work. Its not elegant, but it works.

My experience with e-uae is quite the opposite, i've used both winuae and e-uae on the same pc, and e-uae is faster.

According to the WINE app DB (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=5686), it is unusable.
