Hey,
I'm sure I remember someone once saying that *some* 15" TFT monitors can sync down to the scanrates needed to show an Amiga screenmode, can anyone confirm this?
Also where can I find a reliable list of these monitors -- or could you state which monitor you have which works!
If I can't get one of these whats a better display for the Amiga? I possibly don't want to go down the route of an old CRT monitor... is it now possible to get the LCD TV's for a reasonable price? But is the picture quality worse than a "normal" TFT monitor?
Cheers, and thanks for any help! :-)
Alex.

I have a HICON brand LCD that I got from Australia that can sync to all display modes from my Amiga 1200 using just the RGB to VGA adapter.
It's not perfect though. Some modes do not fill the screen or they appear off-center - the PAL modes seem to work better than the NTSC ones. Additionally, the quality of the LCD itself is not very good in terms of black levels and viewing angle. In the end, though, it does the job of showing everything the Amiga can output and has a small footprint on my desk.
I can look up the exact model tonight if you want.

@Merax
Cool yeah that would be useful... I searched for HICON on ebay but I couldn't find anything...
Maybe it is part of a larger brand though and I can find an equivalent?
Do you specifically but the monitor knowing it would work?
I've seen a Samsung Syncmaster 15" TFT on ebay... I might buy it and try... as the Syncmaster is usually a brand that works with the RGB -> SVGA... Although thats mainly the CRT's so I'm not sure...
Thanks for the info though!

Sycnmasters won't work, especially if they're the ones sold in the us markets. Dunno about european markets.

Ok, Anyone else?

It's a HICON HL1501 LCD TV.
Yeah, I bought it off of ebay and it was advertised by the seller as working with all the Amiga modes.
Here is one of the pics from the auction:

Hi,
as you are in Europe, find some Polaroïd models.
French amigans reported them to work in 15 Khz mode. ;-)
