how can I make A4000 able to read data from an ATA CD or DVD?
I have a spare Pioneer DVD-RW and a spare CD-ROM reader (IDE).
Is there anything alse I need then connecting cables to the A4000?
For example: cd file systems...

Just to read data? Yes, you need to install one of the many CD filesystems (see Aminet) and the atapi.device. It exists inside the idefix97.lha archive, i don't know if you can find it elsewhere.

Yes, but IDEFix is demo. You need to register to remove the demo requesters. Other than this, it's fully functional.
