Title: Gal Pal programming
Post by: trekiej on May 07, 2008, 03:47:18 AM
I have a 16V8-10 GAL. I have WinCPL, but I want to know is there another language that will work?

When I read the subject of this thread I thought it was about establishing some means of controlling a female friend.

Sorry, I wouldn't have a clue where to start! :-)

Probably, but trekiej will be *really* annoyed when he comes back and sees loads of replies, only to find out that they're all gibberish

Pffft! At least they are in English... and it keeps his topic bumped to the top increasing the likeliness of a proper answer... see, we are helping!

I know
Dutch and especially Gronings are quite close to German. English has also similarities.
I better go live in Luxembourg, since they use every European language. (I've been there a couple of years ago, and it was very easy to communicate with the people there :-) )

Hmmm... I've been curious as to how decoupled I have found the two languages... except when I run into a new sentence construction, then I fall into the English spaghetti tense trap. I never realised English had so many odd little tenses until I learned German...

I'm now learning fuzzy logic, so you must be able to get to understand women. :-)

 No Speel, in England w*nkered is a slang term for drunk. At least I don't *think* bloodline was trying to entice me in to some sordid commiseration... :nervous:

Quite right. Research suggests that interference between first and second languages is more likely if the languages are more similar.

@bloodline
For some reason women tend to think that because I'm gay I'm interested in hearing about their feelings, and what they want from life and their men, and how their husbands don't do this or that, or blah blah blah. It bores me senseless, but no matter how obnoxious I am in my responses they just don't get the message. If you ever want to hear any of their whingeing, buy me that pint and I'll tell all - it might help you

I'm always the "fashion consultant". Given that, I'm always strongly opinionated, and tend to think the standard European conformistic clothes are BORING.

I think there should be a proper place for this kind of discussion in the forum (not in coffee house) like hardware projects or something. when this kind of stuff is posted in the coffee house, it will be likely hijacked.

Hmmm... A.org seems to be degenerating into a knocking shop... Which might actually prove to be quite a profitable venture... though I'm not sure about the irony of a gay meeting place called "Amiga" :-D

Speel's comment reminded me of Nathan Barley's Straight on Straight scene... which was too funny for words...

Weird... I'd love women to talk about their feelings with me... but they just tend to sit there, and expect me to make them laugh... which I can gladly do, but it's not much for bonding with someone...

Anyway if you are in the city, a pint is always welcome! :-)

Next time it happens I'll let you know how the conversation gets started. Or you could pretend to be gay and they'll probably spontaneously open up to you (emotionally, not physically (ugh made myself feel a bit unwell...)) Then once you have them captivated with your sensitivity, charm and understanding you can tell them they have turned you and you have fallen for them. They will be so flattered to have straightened you out that they won't be able to refuse!

As far as I could find things about this, you mean you use WinCUPL (http://physics.uoregon.edu/~torrence/432/docs/WinCUPL.pdf), with a GAL16v8 (http://www.latticesemi.com/dynamic/view_document.cfm?document_id=106), or a PAL16v8 (http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datasheets2/33/3326110_1.pdf).
Well, I couldn't find a GCC compiler for it, something which is being made first often, so I guess there's a reason for the usage of this specific language.

@ Speelgoedmannetje :
Sorry, I should have said wincupl.
I think ABEL may be the other language.
Maybe I could make my own with the programming class coming up.
WinCupl is a free down load.

Be aware that writing a language like C is a hell of a lot work, and just a programming class won't take you there, you need to have experience. If you use instead an AVR or PIC, you can use C already (or even C++).
Saves you a lot of time. :-)

@ Speelgoedmannetje :
I bet it is alot of work. I wonder if there is an open source project that would work.
Maybe an AmidevCPP plugin would work.
