Hey Guys,
thanks for the support, sympathy and useful advice on my last thread... what a drama! Finally got the a600 alive and kicking, running from CF card...
Only now it's not recognising the PCMCIA device. Hardware is fine- I checked the old ide drive and, and the PCMCIA slot/cf card works ok.
Have tried copying all the devs/ folder and l/ folder from the old drive to the new CF one... thought there may have been some handlers missing or something... no luck.
When I run the CFD (automount program thing) from Workbench, I get a software error... (Suspend/Reboot) something to do with the Mount command not working.
I ran the debug tool with cfd, and it doesn't even make a logfile, as it says: CompactFlash.device not active.
How do I make it active?
With the old ide drive, I just ran Fat95 and then opened the CFD thing, and it worked...
Am I forgetting a step?
Thanks heaps =)

I think you'll find a file/driver somewhere in your old "Storage" folder (probably the "DOS Drivers sub-folder)that you might need too.
Been a while though, so I'm not totally sure.

*edit* - If I'm home tonight I'll email you the best set-up tool there is for this. But, you'll have to PM me your email addy first ;-)

Just an update to this comedy of errors... about to get the final thing working... and since I've been opening this poor a600 so many times, guess what's happened now?!
A wire for the keyboard connection has broken off at the solder, and I'm really crap at soldering... so you might be hearing more cries of pain soon...
=)
