Hi everyone,
I just returned to these forums. (I can't believe I remembered my login name and password) after all this time Some of you might remember me, some not. I'm Josh, 22 in Texas.
I grew up using the Amiga 1000, and later moved to an Amiga 500. Now, in 2008 fully recovered from my illness my Amiga 1000 has passed on and my A500 sold.
I currently run Solaris Express Developer's Edition on the family computer along side my father's Windows XP install.

Welcome back, what model Amiga will you be looking to buy to replace your A1000 & A500?
-
Good to hear you are well, though I am not sure if I remember you or not.

Can't you repair your Amiga 1000 or have it repaired ?

My Amiga 1000 is not repairable. I have A backup of my A1000 software somewhere on CD for WinUAE.
Here's a photo of what's going on in my room now. This is my Xbox multimedia setup.

I have a Yamaha Stereo amplifier, two large Yamaha speakers on channel a and two smaller panasonic speakers on channel b.
I don't use the Xbox for games, it's a complete multimedia setup, I have the remote so I run my CD's and music DVD's without a cabled controller. The Xbox is run out on Dolby Digital to DAD on the amp.

Joshua Horn, boy that name sounds real familiar. I think you must have been a fine repeat customer of mine :-D
On a serious not, sorry to hear of your illness. I hope all is well now and welcome back :-)
-
I'm sorry to insist, but how do you know your A1000 is not repairable ? I am just curious and trying to prevent similar issues.
-
For one, the mouse and keyboard no longer exist. The floppy drive is dead, and I gave all my software to a friend, whom has a A 500.
-
OK, thank you. So it may be not so serious - it could be still be working with another floppy drive.
