I remember seeing a thread recently about Amiga to SCART cables suggesting some component retailers selling DB-23 connectors cheaply, but can't find it now.
Can anyone recommended a company??
Also will a standard DB-25 hood fit a 23-pin connector?

Don't know where you are located, but they seem to be available here (http://www.connectworld.net/cgi-bin/iec/05CQPDB23.html) and here (http://www.connections-usa.com/DB23FS-db23-connectors.html).

You can "make" a 23pin D-sub using a DB25-sub.
With a rotary tool or equivalent, cut out pins 13 and 25 of the DB25 and you are set.

Also they do them here (http://www.cpc.co.uk)

here too (http://www.reichelt.de/?;ACTION=3;LA=4;GROUP=C1211;GROUPID=3202;ARTICLE=7000;START=0;SORT=preis;OFFSET=16;SID=177plk@qwQARIAADwxVq496acc25af3054cebef457811efeed845)

Thanks guys, that's what I was after!
Would still like to know if you can use a DB-25 hood with a DB-23 connector?

Good find. I'm surprised anyone would make them anymore.

They seem to be different size: DB23 (http://www.connectworld.net/cgi-bin/iec/fullpic?4i32ifgH;DB23H;45) versus DB25 (http://www.connectworld.net/cgi-bin/iec/fullpic?4i32ifgH;DB25H;64).

D23 female plugs into the video port, male to disk port.
These are probably not made anymore, old stocks are depleting?
It's not so easy to make a D23F from a DB-25F, as is with the male counterparts, where pins can be removed, but you'd need to saw the connector, which can be a nasty operation without really suitable tools?

This eBay item (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160209785310) has ended but the guy says he has plenty more in stock.
