Hi all,
I download sword of sodan HD from BTTR and when I extract it on my A1200 with Unzip5.42 I got error message telling disk1 and 2 are corrupted. How it is possible ?

I get this a LOT with LHA archives on my Amiga, but I've seen it only once or twice with ZIP archives on a PC. As far as I know, it only takes 1 bad bit in a ZIP archive to make it unusable, no matter how many files are in the archive (well, that's the way WinZip works, at least).
Stupid question: have you tried re-downloading the files? More than once?

will download the file again. Problem is how can I be sure that all my already downloaded files are all right ? Is there a good program that will let me check the archive integrity of all files in one go ?

Most zip utilities have an option to check the archive. If there is a problem with the archive, you usually hear about it from the unzip utility.
Most probably, either the data was corrupted when the archive was made, or the files he placed in the archive were already damaged. You will know when you download the archive again...

@ Steady : BTTR is the biggest legal amiga emulation site so files from them are probably checked and rechecked before their get released so I am surprised to get corrupt archives.

OK, let us know how you go when you next download them again.

It could be the software on my pc i tried winace and that would report a lot of winrar files as currupt i uninstalled it and installed winrar and everything worked fine even the files that winace said were corrupt. :-? :-)

I download the file again and did a check under winzip : no error. I then checked the corrupt archive and the test option is seeing errors. So maybe it was a DL error (strange because I never have to resume since the connection at work is very fast 50-100kb/s).
BTW do you always shift and click when you DL a file ? I dont and it works fine until now so maybe this shift enable may help me ??

there´s a way to fix corrupt archives. for zip it´s called zipfix (afaik). for lha, etc. there exist similar solutions
