Title: Amiga Amish Furniture?
Post by: persia on April 21, 2008, 07:27:07 PM
I just looked up the Whois info on Amiga Inc, they list an address - 355 Gilman Blvd, Issaquah, Washington.  When I try to find out what;s at this address I find the Amish Touch Furniture Store?  Has Amiga gone Amish?

Anybody a bit closer? I'm not even in the same hemisphere...

Oh, by the way the store's motto is:

"The Place to Buy Tomorrow's Antiques"

Ok, here's the building:

It says they're in room 201.  I believe Americans call the first floor the second floor, in which case they should be upstairs.  They say it's adjacent to Gilman Village, which apparently has  both an Afghan and Indian restaurant.

Yellowbook phone entry:

Amiga Inc
355 NW Gilman Blvd
Issaquah, WA 98027
Local:
425-557-9600

Come on, somebody must be in Seattle...

Since when do Americans call the first floor the second floor? This is news to me.

Hmm I just called the number and Bill is answering his extension. :)

They (Americans) skip the Ground floor, ie the Ground foor is numbered 1, the first floor is numbered 2, etc.  Bloody confusing.

why would the first floor be number two? "the first floor is numbered 2"... and we dont make sense? ive actually seen buildings with floors numbered several different ways.

What I mean is that because they skip the ground floor every floor is one floor lower than you would expect it to be.

What would be neat is if someone in Seattle would go there, find room 201 and snap some photos.  The interior of buildings is still unfortunately not available on the web.  Come on Google, get with the programme...

It all makes sense.

In anticipation of the impending energy crisis, Amiga Inc are developing an Amish Supercomputer.

We'll see who gets the last laugh...
