Title: 2 questions. rgb lcd and amiga explorer.
Post by: monami on April 13, 2008, 11:06:06 PM
2 questions.

1. i'm happily running my amiga in super his res mode and it's lovely and clear too! i am enjoying some whdload games. i have an rgb cable going into my lcd tv's scart socket. am i "fully" amiga compatible? i mean is there any colour modes or screens it can't do? just curious. and what are the limits of the lcd tv itself? (as far as colour display goes?)

2. i want to link my amiga to pc via tcp/ip. i have a compatible pcmcia nic and a pci one on the pc. i think i will be using af5 (older version.) os3.9 and win98. i basically want to use the pc to backup the amigas hard disk by burning it to dvd. is there a simple guide to do this. i haven't even looked into it yet. i just want to be one step ahead. what pitfalls etc?

I've been using the 1200 with a wireless PCMCIA and Easynet from Amigakit, works beautifully but can be slow when backing up the drives, if you are going to use a wired connection then it should be no problem...

I could never get Amiga Explorer to work for me so I gave up and set up a share in the Windows machine where I put everything I want to transfer to/from the Amiga, Easynet automatically logs into the share when booted up...

AExplorer is intended only for use in the peecee side.

It sees the Amiga, but the other way no-go.

You can backup your Miggy from the PC, just open the XP exploder, mark the partition you want to backup and right click it to "copy". Then, when the transfer is done, move the archivers to a .zip archive.
