Title: Wanted: Amiga 1200 accelerator 020/030/040 will pay £££
Post by: bx19rd on April 11, 2008, 05:31:20 PM
Not really fussy about what accelerator I can get as I am getting sick of eBay. I am hoping for value for money though.

I have about £50-£90 to blow, so what have you :D
I am in the UK.

Thank you.

EDIT: Upon seeing the crazy world of accelerators of late my price has moved up to £90 for the right card :D

Nothing at all not even a plain old ram only card?

Will only be looking up until the end of the month, I need it for a talk at a conferance.

No thanks. Either I get sniped, get sold a board that was claimed to work when it does not or the price for even a basic ram card sky rockets to stupidly high heights.

Have you tried Amibay (http://guildserver.co.uk/forums/amibay1/index.php) yet?

Pedantically, there is a new url. ;-)

Kinda pointless making the effort to point it out then huh.

I'd sell you my old A1200 RAM/FPU expansion but it sold only a couple of days ago for $90. About £41. Have you tried Elbox. They sell an A1200 8MB RAM expansion. That is unless they're out of stock.

Edit: Ah yup. Just checked. They're out of stock :-(

bx19rd:

I'd be happy to sell you my Apollo 1240/25 with 16Mb Ram.  I've had it for a while but not done anything with it.

I picked up an A1200 to put it in a few weeks ago and all is working ok.

I've replaced the heatsink on the CPU and put a fan in the A1200 so it actually runs very well in the stock casing.

Unfortunately for me, I just dont have the time to make use of the thing...

One thing to be aware of, someone (not me) damaged the second (optional) simm socket when they installed a heatsink before I bought it, so only 1 simm socket can be used until the damaged socket is replaced.

Otherwise, the accelerator is in excellent working order.

I dont know what the value of these is now, so you can make me an offer :-)

Mike
