Title: PC floppy on Amiga
Post by: trekiej on April 11, 2008, 12:49:12 AM
I have found a site that has a jpeg of how to hook a PC floppy to an Amiga.
http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Downloads/downloads.html
Can anyone tell will this work?
I can only assume it will be 880K.

 Yes, this hack works.

There is two more hacks who works, too. One from Elpiloto (from Argentina), my favourite.

Other is a cable + diode hack, Orange's recommendation. ;-)

Both hacks are foundable here in A.org.

@ rkauer:
Thanks alot. :-D

I may try this on my A500.  The floppy does not work anymore. I installed a new kick start 3.1 ( 40.63 I think)
a while back to boot from the external drive.

In the link it talks about making the pc drive drive zero.
I hope it is not a big deal to set it up.

 You're welcome!:-D

For make the drive as DF0: (internal), no problem. It can be achieved two ways:

 - Locate the switch/resistor/shunt and change it from DS1 to DS0;
 - Twist wires 10 and 12 on the floppy cable.

 Easy, isn't? ;-)

I will look into this. This is a big help.
It will be nice to have an A500 again.
