Title: repairing A1200
Post by: looker on April 09, 2008, 09:21:21 AM
Hi,
I have a board of A1200, that can't boot.

there is no screen after power on, only pow. led lights on.
After cca 25s floppy start to spinning, but no moving heads noise - still spinning with floppy leds on.

I tryed to change CPU, ALICE and VP101
Resoldered other onboard chips.

But i take no effect.

Power supply is ok, tested on another A1200

Thanx for any idea.

I have a spare A1200 with a dodgy floppy controller if you think it will have any use?

I'm only trying to repair it 'couse I have 2 next spare board with spare components(but with broken PCB).

Maybe it's not advantageous to me... spending so much time with no success...

But thank U for your offer... by the way how much you want to sell me your spare board?

Usually means theres a hardware error of some sort (I think). You can have my spare board for £5 + P+P, I hope that is resonable.
