My name is amigakidd or you can call me Tim. I'm from the big apple and an Amiga fan.
I'm new to the Amiga Community. I do not have an Amiga machine, I wish I did. I've been curious with using or reading about Amiga and its operating system since 2003.
I just got an Asus EEE PC Surf 2GB three weeks ago and tempted to run WinUAE on this little machine. WinUAE is the only Amiga-like system I can get my hands on at this point via emulation. I'm not a big fan of Windows and I hate the Product Activation on Win XP. :boohoo:
Anyway, I'm also a listener of Amiga Roundtable Podcast.

Check out Rich Lawrence's podcast. Guys, please make more episodes.
I plan to buy Cloanto Amiga Forever and check it out and run it on my eee PC. I also have plans for a WinUAE podcast dedicated to helping those run their favorite Amiga systems in WinUAE.

A big warm welcome to the comunity :-).
Not having a 'real' Amiga is not much of a handicap if you want to start experimenting with the AmigaOS. The EEEPC is reported to be able to run some flavour of UAE and thus should be able to let you start playing around a bit.
However, keep in mind that the UAE emulation does not exactly copy the feel of a true Amiga. I know, some might think I'm contradicting myself as I once said that UAE does a good job in emulating the Amiga, but only a few weeks ago I noticed how it smelled at running OctaMed ;-).
But for now, buy yourself the latest version of Cloanto's Amiga Forever and start playing. When you like it, start screening eBay for a nice, real Amiga ;-)

Welcome to Amiga.org!
One of the best things about running any Amiga-ish system is the help available from the community for the problems you are likely to run into.

Thanks all.
I got into the Amiga from looking at screenshots of Workbench and some screenshots featured 4 or 5 FMV apps playing on the desktop. I think thats what got me into Amiga. I just thought it was cool.
