Hi All,
I'm thinking about upgrading my original Mediator 1200 to a Mediator 1200TX and changing my Voodoo 5500 to a Radeon 9200, I was wondering if this would be a good upgrade in terms of a speed boost, my current system consists of the following:-
Blizzard 1260 + SCSI module
198mb ram
9gb 10k SCSI drive (main drive)
Fast ATA MKIII
80GB IDE (Store)
SCSI CDRW
IDE DVD
Mediator 1200
Spider II
SB128
Voodoo 5500
I emailed Elbox asking about an upgrade/trade-in path but the email I received back from them seems to have referred to the 1200SX and not the original 1200, for those interested there seems to be an upgrade kit coming.

No, this upgrade will be much easier.
We will offer DYI upgrade pack.
Thanks for any help :-)

I am in a similar position as I have a Mediator LT4 and to justify the extra outlay is difficult. The news however that Radeon graphics cards are now compatible is good and Elbox have supplied me with the updated MMCD drivers. I'm hoping therfore that the Mediator LT4 will continue to suit my requirements but am aware that there is some extra hardware required for Radeon cards to work.
Am I correct however that to date Elbox have only mentioned an upgrade route from Mediator SX ?

i belive they will sell some spacers for other mediators that will add the correct voltage ---
I thought about upgrading my mediator when possible too "SX" . My radeon is on its way by post so will post back when i know if it is worth it ...

Too little gain, IMHO.
And Radeons won't provide you Warp3D.

Pretty much as I expected really, until there is some real advantage to upgrade I'm going to remain undecided.
I'm also a little worried that Elbox may release the Dragon soon (don't lol) which would mean another major upgrade.
