If you have an old "Machine Language Programming For the Commodore 64", it is worth at least $75 because it is selling for that much on Amazon.com. I have at least two copies but I haven't decided to sell them. There might be gold in your old books.
Machine Language for the Commodore 64 by Jim Butterfield (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0893036528/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1207527560&sr=1-3&condition=all)

Not just any book, the book. Jim Butterfield passed away recently, which created more of a demand for a book that has always been considered the gold standard anyway. I feel fortunate to have picked this book up for $30 on eBay a couple months ago. It will only go up in vlaue from here.
RIP Jim Butterfield :-(
