I wonder if a 600er Keyboard would work with a 1200...cause i wanna put the 1200 in another case and i need more space and don't really need the number block.
i think it should cause the pc keyboard adapters u can get always say they are for 600ers and 1200ers.Has anybody tried it?
Thanks,Stefan

I wonder if that can be reversed to connect an a1200 keyboard to an a600, or some sort of keyboard adapter modification to get the numpad, i have an at adapter on my a600 due to a dead ribbon cable

@ mike, It can. Some serious modding and a steady hand is needed though.

Excellent...!!!Thanks! :-D :-D :-D :-D

I cannot believe that someone thought they could get an A1200 in an A600 case ;-)

I guess its possible, but you'd have to chop the pcb up, and i cant imagine how that would work with a multilayer pcb. Even if you did manage to run new paths using the schematics as a reference its alot of work!

I'd be curious to try the hack the other way around. Using an a1200 keyboard on an a600. I wonder if the Numpad would function with that hack? I have 3 a1200 keyboards here and an a600 with no keyboard. I don't like the idea of hacking the keyboard controller chip though.

@ alexh
That 'someone' actually did it - he's willow, the one who gave the schematic in the link pointed out by skurk above. Just click on 'more photos from willow', and be convinced.
'tho personally i also don't see why someone would forego the expansionability of an A1200 .....
