Hello:
I just purchased a Palm TX and was wondering if I can use PalmGUI V3 to install programs and back up my Palm TX via Poseidon palmpda.class
Is it possible?? If so, how?
-
I've never tried PalmGUI (well I don't have USB, either), where is it available?
I still run Spitfire with an older Palm IIIc and a serial link. It's excellent! Palm and Amiga make a good combination for ppl who can't take their Amiga everywhere.
AFAIK, Spitfire wasn't updated to work with any USB stacks. It's a shame really since I've been using a Zire72 for last several years, too.

I tried downloading PDALinkPoseidon.lha from Aminet, but still see no way to get the pdalink.library linked to Poseidon usb stack??
Where is the connection made?

Don't know about the TX, but with my T3 a backup is possible. I have just looked into that mentioned AminetFile, its just the modified library, but indeed it doesn't give you the whole picture.
In Trident you find under Classes the palmpda.class. Try Configure and you will see the requester for a command. This command is just a arexx-script, which will be launched in the event of a hotsync. Output goes to the Shell console window, also configured here.
Just read the description of palmpda.class in your Poseidon-E.guide, here you find also a sample arexx-script. ;-)

There is, or should be, a variable in ENV:/ENVARC: called PDALINK_DEVICE. Set it to usbpalm.device. You should also have pdalink.library in Libs:.
Poseidon usually installs them automatically, though. I've never tried using them as I don't have a Palm, but good luck!
