I have just bought a serail mouse adaptor (Mouse-It).
I assumed it would fit in the mouse port, but of course
it fits in the serial port. How can I use my modem?
Is there a splitter lead available? Can 2 devices work
simultaneously on the serial port?
If the answer is no, I may consider buying a PCMCIA
modem. Are these compatible with the A1200 PCMCIA slot?
I have seen drivers, but they may be old. What am I to do??!

I do not understand. You do not need an adapter to connect a serial mouse to the serial port (apart from an ordinary 9pin to 25pin adapter). Every usual mouse converter (e.g. Topolino, Mroocheck) of course connects to the mouse port. What is that "Mouse-It" for ?
Bye,
Thomas

FYI :-
MouseIT (http://www.amigastuff.co.uk/partnumber.asp?Code=MOUSEIT&Page=type1)

I dunno about PCMCIA modems, but you could get yourself a SurfSquirrel. It gives you a SCSI controller (ala original Squirrel) plus a high speed Serial port to boot. :-)
I was trying to sell one on Amibench a while back, but noone bit :-(

i personally use an amiga mouse.
But if you want to tie-up the serial port...
Then why not invest in a Port jr. serial port, it fit on to the internal clock pins.
This device is super fast... ( i use one )
Better check the MoBo spec. first as you may have problems. :-D

That sounds like the solution. How much do you want for it?

I mean Nibbler's Surf Squirrel, PortJunior is not
an option, I have an Ioblix 1200P in the clock port.
Making inquiries about the 1200S and the Clock-up
port expander though.

I have to say, much like Thomas, I dont see the point ion having a mouse adaptor that connects to the Serial port on your amiga. Personally I would say send it back and get a refund. Then go to eyetech and buy one of thier suberb EZMouse adaptors, they plug into the Normal mouse port and allow you to use many PC mice (I have used most logitech mice with the adaptor without a problem)
Also, is that MouseIT compatable with old games that are hardwired to the Amigas Mouse ports? (I know the EZMouse is fine in this respect)
Cheerio

Thanks guys, EZmouse it is then. Not sure if I'll
get a refund though, maybe he'll give me credit on
a game or something. Napalm, maybe...
