Title: OS4 Install problem!!!
Post by: Daniele on April 02, 2008, 02:46:06 PM
Hello,

I have just received Amiga OS 4 from Amigakit and I tried

to install. I have read on the manual to press ESC KEY

while powering up the Amiga to set OFF the MapRom but it

doens't appear anything when I hold ESC KEY.

Then when I boot from Amiga OS4 Boot Floppy it opens

a windows and says: insert Amiga OS 4 Install CD.

I have read on the manual the I have to eject the CD

and insert it again but it doesn't work the Amiga keep

on looking for this Amiga OS 4 Install CD.

I have to say that I have IdeFix Express on my Amiga.

What can I do to fix these problems and install OS4?

Thanks in Advance

I got the same 'Please insert volume Amiga OS4.0 install CD' report with my CDrom as unit 2 on my Secondary IDE channel. As I can't see any reference to IDEFix on the OS4 Boot Floppy, I would suggest you have your CDrom as either master or slave on the Primary IDE channel.

u have to have the ide cdrom on the same channel as your harddrive channel 0 or first channel , l dont think u can do this with 2/12 ide hard drive u neen to get a 3 1/2 ide hard drive and install to this.
