If its a Softkick machine then you should receive the
correct KickStart disk with it.

My A3000 was origonally a Softkick machine with OS 2.04.
The nice thing about the Softkick machines is you can run
any Kick image you want. I had Kick 2.xx and 1.3 on my
disk. I later got a Kick 3.1 image and was able to get
OS 3.9 installed.
But I did finally install the hard-burned 3.1 roms, it
was just less trouble in the long run.

I still have the origonal SoftKick disk if you need it.

Hi

I believe that the difference is the ROM Tower on the motherboard. When I obtained a new motherboard without the ROM Tower but with 2.04 I needed the Boot Disk which I finally tracked down... See link.

Think thats right.

I have images of the ROM Tower on the website.
