Extremely rude of me to have left it so long to introduce myself...
Started out on the 64 way back when a 1200/75 bps modem was lightning fast ( a cartridge modem no less!) and using Viatel was cool ( a Teletex like service in Australia)
Moved on to the A500 and ran an Amiga BBS, learnt to code using Lattice C and then moved on to the beautiful A1200 .
Packed it all up in '96 and only recently set up the 1200 again, now I'm hooked all over again!
Nice to see so many others share my obsession!

Hello Marcb, I just bought an A1200 myself and am waiting on delivery. It will be going along side my A4000T project. For all matters Amiga, you have come to the right place! What BBS did you used to run? Do you get the feeling that some day this machine is going to bounce back and recapture the imagination of purists everywhere? I had a premonition that it happened.

Hi Amithony!
I'd love to get my hands on a 4000... Half your luck!
The BBS was called Sollaris, closed it down when I got a letter from the Telco (Telstra) telling me they were going to charge me business rates!
Even over the relatively short time I've resurrected the 1200 I reckon there has been an increase of activity on Ebay so hopefully that means there are more people like us out there!

@ Retro_71
I have seen some pictures os southern Australia. On public broadcasting here in Texas I saw a show on a train ride through there. Man, it was beautiful. I also saw where there longest straightest strip of rail was.

I just started using my a1200 to do some animations using Brilliance, Adorage and Scala and my son is starting to enjoy it. Its funny after being caught up in the hardware race to upgrade and not ever getting around to use the software properly, i now appreciate the power and simplicity the
Amiga platform offers. Its just a tool to do things with and if you stick to what the hardware is good at then it can be so much fun
