Question ...........
What is the exact boot sequence on an A2000HD w/A2091 SCSI card ?
This is a newly installed OS 3.1 system.
I'm having a problem with getting the CD Rom to work correctly.
All files seem to be installed correctly and the CD Rom works correctly
when I boot with a disk in the Rom drive. Boot time is normal and
I'm able to change disks and read them.
But if I boot without a disk in the Rom drive the machine take an
excessively long time to boot, The HD led blinks (polling the CD Rom)
for a long time then finally boots up. After Bootup when I insert a disk
in the Rom drive the HD Led comes on and stays on. I'm not sure if
the machine is locked up or not, after several minutes I power down
and re-boot.
I tried installing the Rom drive with AmiCDFS but no success so I used
the CDFS file included with OS 3.1. That seems to work (almost).
I believe my problem in a bootup setting but don't know where to look.
So.. what is the exact Boot sequence of the A2000HD ?

I don't know what the exact boot up sequence is for a 2000 (I've got a manual and will have a look later tonight and see what I can find out) but I'm intruged as to how you've got your HD and CD connected to the 2000?
I've got one and it has the A2091 but I had a seperate driver card for the CD.
Are yours both driven from the A2091?

Yes... both connected on the A2091 card.
I have the HD at unit '0' and the CD at unit '2'.
The CD in last on the chain and is terminated.

If you cross-post the same question into different forums, you should read the answers to all of your posts before you start to bump.
