Hello,
Do anybody know where I can buy a copy of Quake for Amiga, I tried to contact IDsoftware and ClickBoom with no luck!
Let me know please.
What kind of version of Quake do exists for AMIGA?
Thanks in advance

quake (http://devnull.owl.de/~frank/quake_e.html)
Quake demo map is available at id Software (http://ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake/quake106.zip).
This should be enough for you to determine if it's worth trying to source the full version. If you find it worthy, just get the PC version from somewhere (as you were told before already in another thread).

@Piru
What PC Version do I need? Quake I , II or III?
Many Thanks

And for Quake you need Quake, not Quake 2 or 3.
As for the old commercial Ami-port, I don't think you need it at all as far as I remember. Just the PC version will do. You'll just need the folder called ID1 or something to that effect in your Quake directory.

it went open source l have amiga quake from clickboom but l lost my serial number so am screwed.
but you just get the pak files from pc quake theres 2 files
pak 1 pak 2
then just run the amiga quake port you need at least a 060
or ppc , l tyed it on my 040 25 mhz was bit slow.

Too slow on 060 also, IMHO.. On ppc its fine though :)

I once got it working using the 060, but couldn't get it to run using the PPC chip.
I'll give it another try 8-)

Hello,
at this page :
http://aminet.net/package/game/shoot/Quake68k
I have:
INSTALLATION
To be able to play Quake, you have to install the original game data first. Create a new directory for Quake and copy the original "id1" directory into it. Then extract the contents of this archive into your Quake directory.
What this the original game datas? The PC Version of Quake I ? Let me understand this please!
Thanks

QUAKE DEMO
1. Have XAD (http://aminet.net/search?query=xadmaster) installed.
2. Download quake106.zip (http://ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake/quake106.zip)
3. xadunfile quake106.zip t:
4. xadunfile t:resource.1 t: id1/pak0.pak
5. copy t:id1/pak0.pak to your quake game directory, for example: copy t:id1#? work:games/quake/ all
QUAKE FULL
This depends on the version of the game, but the simplest solution is to install the game and then copy the .pak files from the game ID1 directory.
To be honest this isn't exactly rocket science.
