I think I read an old magazine article or BBS article where you could connect a third party keyboard but that means the person probably did it him/herself.  There were different companies doing modifications and I remember someone selling equipment so you could boot from different roms if you so desired.

What you are looking at is a metal shelf unit standing over the backend of the a500, it was a commercial product but at the moment I cannot remember anymore, if no-one else posts first, I will dig up an old advert and give more details in a day or two.

OK, I have found an advert in a 1994 magazine where it is simply called WORKSTATION, there were three models available , one for a500, one for a600 and one for a1200 they were all priced at £36.00.

Hi! all I remember this well! It originated in the UK and is a monitor stand with joystick/mouse extention cables I bought one new many years ago and it cost me a small fortune for postage. You could put your external floppy on the shelf and it made the 500 look ever so tidy, ended up going to my brother in law who still has it tucked away with his treasure trove of amiga gear.On thinking more about it I bought it from "Datel" or Analogic computers about 16 years ago in the years of madness and mayhem.
