Hello everyone,
I recently brought my A2000 out of retirement and am playing at rebuilding it to relax my nerves a bit. I am now down because I burnt out the rom on my gvp scsi controller when the back fell off and it shorted out. I’m just waiting for new parts to continue building up the system. I’m running an A2000 with a gvp A3001 030 running at 50 mhz and 28 mb fast ram, 2 mb chip, a 2320 deinterlacer board, a 36 gb 10,000 rpm WD hd (or I was until I blew my rom), gvp Impact A2000-HC Series II scsi controller (the one that fell apart) as well as a TEAC CDR50S cd burner and OS 3.1. I’m getting ready to put in a piccolo SD64 4 mb video card and maybe a Buddha card. Just thought I’d look and see what was happening in the amiga community.

@artstew
Welcome. :-)
I learnt everything I know about computers by messing about with them since I got my first one in 1980 :crazy:
Some would say I haven't learnt a lot because I'm still messing about with them :lol:

I didn't get my first computer until ‘96 when my brother gave up and handed down the 2000 I’m working on now. It taught me a lot in those first few years-yeah you can learn a lot just playing around. Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome!
That's one thing i really love about the Amiga's you can mess around with them and they can still work 100% (unless you blow something ;-) ). try that with Billy Boys Winsux and you'll be pulling your hair and reaching for the install CD....... :-D

Very true! Friends find it hard to believe that I'm using a computer that is 20 years old and still works.

I just got my new rom for my scsi controller, fixed the back plate, put the new rom in and everything is good again. I’ll be playing around some more, so see ya later.
