After tried other TCP stacks like EasyNet (supplied by Amigakit for the Ethernet Card) and Genesis with bad luck I was going to configurate MiamiDX but when I go the the section "Interface" and select in the SANAII device place the FastEthernet.device I got a windows saying:
Miami Deluxe is unable to open SanaII device "Miami:/Devs/Networks/FastEthernet.device unit 0.
if I change number of unit I have the same problem.
What can I do in order to solve this problems?
Many Thanks

You might have wrong path there.
It should be Devs:Networks/FastEthernet.device or SYS:Devs/Networks/FastEthernet.device
Use unit 0.
Btw. does PciInfo command list your network card?
-
@pVC
it's not matter of path beacuse the Mediator CD install the FastEthernet.device in DH0:Devs/Networks but the MiamiDX seems to not accept this device.
I am wondering why and what can I do!
-
Type c:PCIInfo in a CLI
Does the network card appear in the resulting list?
-
Plus: what adaptor do you use? Realtek 8129? 8139? Other?

And you have Miami's dir in DH0: too? Just wondering that weird path Miami:/devs... you had there..

Result of C:PCIinfo by CLI
PCI Device 1
VendorID: $10ec
VendorName: Realtek Semiconductor
Device ID: $8139
DeviceName: RT8139 A/B/C/FastEthernet Adapter
ClassCode: £20000
RevisionID: $10
InterruptPin: 3
SubSystemID: $8139

Do you have a Voodoo or other video card into the Mediator?
Without one graphics card (in first slot), none other card will work.

@rkauer
I have a Voodoo 3000 but not installed.
1)why without one graphic card in the first slot none other card such as the ethernet card would work?
2)what do I need to install the Voodooo? i
3)it seems I would need Picasso96.Where can I find it?

As I said earlier, FastEthernet.device needs ram from Voodoo. So yes, Voodoo must be connected before the networkcard can operate.
1) Not all cards need Voodoo. Like I said the 10Mbps network card doesn't, but 10/100 does. They need some amount of memory from Voodoo. In my experience Voodoo doesn't have to be in first slot, but as heard, for some setups it works better in it than on other slots.
2&3) Read the documentation provided with the Mediator drivers.

with a mediator sx, it is advisable to fit the fast ethernet card in the first slot, as it uses most of the med resources.
2nd slot sound card
5th slot graphics card
i had to take my tower to amigakit to sort out some problems, the same as you are expriencing plus other probs.
that is the advice given.
