Title: ROM 3.1 On Amiga 500 Rev 6 motherboard
Post by: Dmaster on February 23, 2008, 12:12:47 AM
Hello all, I have a kickstart 40.63 and I was told this is a ROM 3.1.  Years ago I had an Amiga and I remember that in order to use ROM 3.1 on it there was some pins that needed to be connected to each other or something like that.  Does anyone know if this Kickstart 40.63 Rom chip will work on a rev 6 Amiga 500 motherboard?  If so, are there any special instructions on installing it or can I just replace the Rom in it directly?  Thanks.

working only from memory, I am pretty sure I have installed the 3.1 ROM in my version 6a A500 without having to jumper any pins.  It has been years since installed, but I am almost sure that is correct.

No, it was the Rev 5 that needed a trace sliced for 2.1. I remember I had to do it to upgrade.

Then, my old 1.3 games stopped working.  :madashell:

Trace sliced? All you need to do is jumper pin 1 to pin 31 on the rom.
