Title: Maximum amount of RAM on Amiga 4000?
Post by: McVenco on February 22, 2008, 09:11:12 AM
Is there a maximum to how much RAM can be added to an A4000? For instance: if I would have a Cyberstorm MK3, a Fastlane Z3 SCSI+RAM card and six DKB3128s (yeah, I wish...), could I then have 8x128=1024MB FastRAM?

AFAIK the Zorro III bus can address 1.75GB, the M/B carries 18MB and the CPU accelerator card can have 128MB, total 1938MB ram.
The main difficulty is finding and paying for the necessary cards.

I've got 338Mbytes in my Amiga 4000, but it's overkill. It worked just as well with 50Mbytes (which is what was inside when I got it in 1998)
