Title: "Say" program for 3.1?
Post by: SamOS39 on February 21, 2008, 09:56:22 PM
I downloaded a workbench 1.x adf (dont worry i already own one somewhere;-)) so i could try and get hold of the old "say" program.
I tried loading the program on my 3.1 (OS 3.9) A1200 but "Say" just refuses to load  :-(

I guess it doesnt support my setup.. is there one that will work?

Cheers

Sam.

Copy over narrator.device, translator.library, Say, and speak-handler from a 2.04 Workbench disk.

I used to have a 2.x app called Speechtoy or Speechtool that was basically the same as the original Say, but let you adjust all the aspects of the speech from its GUI... It's probably on Aminet.

The 1.3 versions will work, but the voice quality will be a little different and you'll have less flexibility with advanced voice parameters.

Did anyone mention the fact that you need the proper version of translator.library in LIBS: ?
Get it from your 1.3 disk.
